Hello lovely peeps, how was your Christmas? Ours was filled with family, food en pressies. Now we are getting to the end of 2013, I can't believe how fast the time went. In a couple of days it's 2014! A new year always feels like a fresh start to me. So maybe this time I will hold on to my new year resolutions. You know, the basics: healthier eating, more exercises and less worrying. Anyway...I wish you all a happy and creative new year :-D

Happy Birthday

I used this design not so long ago for a Stampotique challenge, it's made with My Favorite Things Die-Namics, and loved it. So I used it again for a friends birthday card :-) I used Dylusions Funky Fuchsia, Vibrant Turquoise and Bubblegum Pink. I stamped with Archival Jet Black and Magenta Hue. I colored Bird Lady with Distress Markers. I sooo love to use this stamp on book paper :-) All the lovely stamps I used are from Stampotique.

2014 Design Team Announcment

With 2013 coming to a close in a few short weeks and the year starts to slow down a little for us to enjoy some family and friends for the holidays, we also reflect back on a wonderful year for Stampotique.

Our Stampotique family has grown with each and every design team member, challenge participant and fans.  We are always excited when we see new players in the challenges, or hear stories of how much someone loves the new line of Stampotique stamps.  We appreciate each and every one of you for your business and support.

We held an open call a few months ago for our new 2014 design team and while we could not chose everyone for the team-we chose the designers we felt fit best with what we were looking for in 2014.  If you did not make it, please know it was not due to us not liking your work, we love all Stampotique designs and we hope that you will apply again with the next call.

We will have 2 teams going into 2014 so please make sure to jump on over to the Stampotique Designers Cahllenge Blog where our team of 17 will be challenging you each week.

Today, we share with your our team for the Stampotique Designer's Blog.

Announcing our new members and the day they will be posting on:

Sunday: Astrid Stulemeijer

Hi, I’m Astrid, I live in the Netherlands with my hubby and our little boy.
I started my creative journey with Art Journaling, which is like
therapy to me. The creatures by Stampotique are a great way to tell my
story. To be honest, they are great on any project ;-) Like for
example my new love, card making.
But no matter what I make, it will be colorful :-D
This will be my second term in this amazing group of people and I’m
thrilled to join the Blog/Facebook Design team with these very
talented ladies.

Monday: Roc Nicholas

I am an artist, writer, rubber stamp designer and an instructor.  I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 31 years and we have two sons and three grandsons.  I especially love to journal, but I also love doodling, using rubber stamps, and recyclable objects in my art work. I am blessed to be on a few design teams and i truly love making art.

Tuesday: Valerie Wilson
Hi, I'm Valerie and I'm thrilled to be returning to the Stampotique Design Team in 2014!  I just took a look back and I can't believe I've been part of the Stampotique family since the beginning of 2010!  How time flies when you're having fun!  Every time I sit down to create with the Stampotique stamps, I smile and often giggle while I work - somehow, they take on a life of their own and have their own sense of humor!  I recently had the pleasure of meeting the "parents" of the Stampotique family, Carol and Jim, and I instantly felt like we had been family forever - I can't wait until the next time we visit!!  I'm looking forward to every minute of creativity with this group of genius crafters!

Wednesday: Claudine Criner

Hello Everyone, I am a stay at home mom, mother of two wonderful girls. I am also an Air Force wife and have been married for 16 amazing years. I have just begun teaching mixed media at my local scrapbook store and am super excited about my new adventure. I am so excited to be on this design team, I have loved Stampotique from the moment I discovered them and cannot wait to see what the future holds for me. I have been into anything crafty since I was quite young, you name it, I have probably tried it at least once. I'm into many different styles and one of my favorites is steampunk.

Thursday: Janet Klein

Hello there. I’m Janet from Tempe, Arizona where I reside with my husband Jess and two terrifically adorable labradoodles.   I have been drawing (starting on walls) since I was a toddler and have never stopped.
I have spent a rewarding  career in art education, teaching grades k-university.  My passions has been working with children, taking them beyond limits.  Since my recent retirement, you can find me at Veralanestudio.com.

I am not new to Stampotique, creating my first images for rubber  in 2001. My work has been published in several craft publications, most recently in Simply Cards and Papercraft and Complete Cardmaking.  I am thrilled to continue my thirteen year relationship with Stampotique and being a proud member the Stampotique  team.
Friday: Sarah Anderson

I bought my first rubber stamp on a trip to California nearly 30 years ago and looked forward to the hobby making its way over to the UK. Once it had, I started making cards, then began teaching rubber stamping and book-making alongside writing for Crafts Beautiful magazine and entering work for Stampington’s magazines. Fast forward a number of years and I discovered art journaling and immediately began including stamped images in my journals. I love how the funky images produced by Stampotique are ideal for my art journal and so am absolutely thrilled to be on the Stampotique Design team.

I have a very tolerant husband, 3 children aged 18, 17 and 16, and a busy job as a primary special needs teacher. Playing in my craft room with inks, paint, and stamps or fabrics, threads and my sewing machine or embellisher is my way to relax.

Saturday: Coby van Willigenburg

I'm a woman of 58 living in the Netherlands. Love playing with ink, paint, paper and stamps, especially Stampotique stamps. So a dirty hands woman. I love to make CAS- cards, little books and to use white spaces as well as stitching in my work. On saturday I wil post something on the Designers Blog, hope you will come over to see and like it! In the Netherlands I host a two weekly Stampotique- Challange, it's nice to see every one's creation.

Congratulations to our 2014 Stampotique Designer's Blog team!

An Early Christmas

It's 'Early Christmas' this week at Stampotique challenge blog and our hostess is Nellie!
I have a confession to make . . . I don't really like Christmas very much but I did enjoy decorating this printer tray! For some reason I do love pink and blue together for Christmas creations. It started off completely naked like this:
I began by preparing the base with some card and painting all the window layers before gluing in place. Then it was just a case of having fun with bedazzles and star confetti and of course some Stampotique stamps, maybe I could like this Christmas malarkey after all, lol!
Here's a quirky close up so you can see the depth better and the little hook I made using some wire for the ornament. I've come to the conclusion that glitter and shiny things must be the most difficult to photograph!
I do hope you like my first ever printer tray completed?
Have a wonderful day, Sam xxx

In Creases . . .

. . . I came across a Diamond Fold card a few weeks and just had to have a play!!!

Here's how to make a Diamond Fold card:
Draw a vertical pencil line through the centre of a horizontal piece of paper/card cut to 12"(30.5cm) x 3.75" (9.5cm). Fold the bottom two edges upwards to meet the pencil line. Unfold. Repeat with the top edges (folding downwards). This gives you two folded crosses. To the right and left of the pair of crosses, fold to create the side panels. Compress the sides inwards to form 'hills and valleys' and in doing so, the diamond card.

I then painted my card with contrasting Martha Stewart paints and the stamps I used are: Stacked Love, 5 Petaled Flower, Design Cube and HazelHeart.
I do hope you like my card,
wishing you a wonderful day, Sam xxx

Stone the Crows

Isn't it funny how and when inspiration strikes, I was attempting to do some gardening a few weeks ago when I found hidden under some overgrowth some really big pebbles that we bought back from the seaside about 15 years ago. I managed to drop one of these pebbles on my foot and cursed, "Stone the Crows!!". I then got to thinking about trips to the seaside as a small child and I remember on the sea front ladies selling large pebbles that had been painted with a local scene, I loved these pebbles but never got one. Then I got to thinking about decorating my garden pebble with stamps . . . of course! So I chose the stamps and got to work, beginning by painting the pebble green and then pink. I stamped Moon Girls Crow on tissue paper and cut out, I also stamped the Whole Heart sentiment on tissue paper. I stuck them in position using some PVA glue mixed with water 50/50. I used the heart from Tiny Hand Helds for extra detail and the spotty side from Design Cube to add the brown to blend it all together.
Hope you like it, wishing you a lovely day, Sam xxx

We are thrilled to announce our October guest designer, Sam Butler.  You've seen her around, she's a frequent player of our challenges and we are so excited to share her work with you.  Here's more about Sam and another creation for the current Stampotique Designer's Challenge.

Hi, my name is Sam aka Sam21ski. I’ve been crafting for quite a while now and like anything distressed and grungy.  I love any sort of crafting and would say that I am adventurous with new materials and am willing to give anything a go!!
My favourite colour is green, closely followed by brown and I am a great admirer of Tim Holtz.  I love fun and funky so the Stampotique images fit perfectly.  I also love all stuff PaperArtsy too!!
I have a 6 year old bearded collie called Fraser and a partner of over 20+ years called Martin.  The both put up with my antiques on the dining room table, as this is where I craft.
If you want to find out more about me, see what I’ve been up to or get in touch, you’ll find me here http://sam21ski.blogspot.co.uk/

Stamps used –

Stampotique Designer's challenge "New technique"

SDC 116 Nellie
This week's theme for the Stampotique designer's challenge  is to try a new technique. This is one of the first backgrounds I made with alcoholink on yupo paper after following a workshop. It's a lot of fun (and very addictive) to play with these materials. The outcome of this technique is quit  unpredictable, but that is what makes it fun too. These are the Stampotique stamps I used: Rain text and Floral flutter. Please join us in this challenge and show what new techniques you are mastering.

Have fun stamping!

Be Your Own Superhero!

Today's card features more of my favorite new stamps from the Fall 2013 release fromStampotique Originals! These are from designer Linda Peterson. I am so in love with her sweet little pointy-headed people!!

And isn't that sentiment just THE BEST? Love it!! The image is 12012 Superhero and the message is 12013 Superhero Text. I colored it with my Copics and made it crazy bright and happy with papers from Lori Whitlock for Echo Park and Amy Tangerine for American Crafts. I have developed a new theory in my crafting - my theory is that clouds make anything cuter. I went with that theory on this card. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!
