Fit for a Princess

Here's something very different for me and I'm quite nervous sharing this. Firstly I played with some paper clay, never done that before! Secondly I've used just one stamp, I don't think I've done that before either, I usually use as many as I can on each creation.
The inspiration for this came one evening after doing the washing up, I usually take my ring off and put it down somewhere even though I wear rubber gloves. One evening I thought I had lost my favourite ring and I just thought that this had to stop as it wasn't the first time. So I go my thinking cap on and came up with this. The paper clay was really easy to use, I painted it when it was completely dry and added some silver leaf and the lovely daisies which are part of the Daisy Daisy stamp. I finished off with a coat of gloss medium for protection.
Now I'll always know where my ring is.
I hope you like it, Sam xxx

Birdy Friends

I made this arch for another DT I am on and thought I'd share it here too:

I love the way that my Stampotique stamps work so well with their chipboard goodies!

The stamps I've used are ~{Stack of Birds}~, coloured with DI's as watercolours and ~{A Friend's Touch}~.

SDC 94 Nellie
Gez hopes to get a spring feeling by choosing "Flowers" as this weeks theme for the Stampotique designer's challenge. I think we all can use some colour and sun! Here is the card I made for this challenge. I used  some of the wonderful Stampotique stamps from the new release and one of my favourite old ones: SpidergrassWildflower verseDaisy daisy. I sponged the background with blue and green distressinks and stamped with distressinks too. I coloured the flowers with a white gelpen.

Have fun stamping!

April Guest Designer- Debbie Reid

I apologize for not getting the announcement of our April guest designer up yesterday-you know I didn't want to fool you all when we shared with you how excited we are to have Debbie Reid with us in April.

So excited to be here! I live in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada with my amazing husband, Mike, and our fur baby, Abby, a 12-year-old Abyssinian cat. I am the Library Manager at The Chronicle Herald newspaper.

I have been a paper crafter since 2007.  I scrapbook, make cards, tags, canvas and journal art.
I'm on my third scrapbook of concerts I have attended. I came across a cigar box with ticket stubs in it one day and I had just started taking scrapbooking classes, so I decided to scrap them.

My first concert was The Guess Who in 1975. My second concert was Fleetwood Mac in 1977. It cost $12.00 to see Fleetwood Mac in 1977! I also save the concert review, and I try and take a photo of Mike and I at the concert. I just finished a layout for a concert we attended last month. A local band by the name of The Trews.

I'm also starting to put together a Genealogy scrapbook.

My style is vintage, shabby chic, distressed, Tim Holtz. Not too much into “cute”, although, I like cute cards, but not making them.  I make cards for fun and for family occasions mostly. I am partial to tags.

I am on the Design Team for The Stampsmith, who make photo image stamps.

So thrilled to be a guest designer for Stampotique! I love the very different and unique stamps they carry.
